Prime Plaza and Horison Officiate First Hotel Marketing Alliance in Indonesia

For the first time in Indonesia, two national hotel chains join in one alliance. Prime Plaza Hotels & Resorts, a group of Plaza, Dynasty, and Prime Inn brand, signs the agreement of Marketing Alliance with Metropolitan Golden Management (MGM), as the owner of Horison Hotels. The signing ceremony took place at Horison Hotel Bekasi on July 19, 2007.
Representing Prime Plaza in the MOU signing ceremony is Frans Bonang (President Director of Prime Plaza Hotels & Resorts), while MGM is represented by its Managing Director, Ir. Nanda Widya. Also present to assist the signing ceremony are Keith Bell (Chairman of Prime Plaza Marketing Association-PPMA) and Yusak Anshori (Vice Chairman of PPMA). While from MGM is assisted by Jopie O. Pelealu (Operation Director of MGM) and Ito R. Sukarmadji (General Manager of Horison Hotel Bekasi).
The agreement will be implemented in a marketing alliance which will be called by the name Hotel Marketing Alliance. Prime Plaza has properties in areas in Indonesia different from the areas where properties of Horison Hotels are located. By joining the 1334 rooms owned by Prime Plaza from its seven properties with the 844 rooms owned by MGM from its six Horison Hotels, the two will be able to provide 2178 rooms spread in 9 strategic cities in Indonesia to accommodate market needs of rooms. The two have decided to support each other in the form of Joint Marketing Partnership activities - considered as an efficient way to broaden the target market.
One of the marketing partnership activity is to establish marketing tools to be used in joint marketing programs which will be developed and implemented by the two. This alliance is also established to improve national hotel industry in Indonesia and enable them to compete with hotels under international chains in Indonesia. In the future, there are possibilities to expand the alliance in broader forms.
